The programme
In collaboration with Florence’s historic Basilica di Santo Spirito and Mascarade Opera, this initiative establishes the Choir of Santo Spirito, awarding annual choral scholarships to twelve specially selected young singers based in Florence.
Singers receive training and performance opportunities at Mascarade Opera, developing essential ensemble, vocal and musicianship skills, while contributing to the community of Santo Spirito in the form of a monthly sung service at the Basilica.

Auditions
The programme seeks 12 young singers (SATB) aged between 18 and 26, based in Florence and the vicinity, to form the monthly choir of the Basilica of Santo Spirito. Offering professional, ensemble and musicianship experience, singers will sing a regular programme of sacred repertoire, in addition to performance opportunities with Mascarade Opera and Vox Medicea.
Singers receive an annual €1,000 choral bursary, to sing during the academic year, between October and June.
Applications
Auditions take place in October and by appointment during the year. Singers should send a cover email to ms@newgenerationfoundation.com with a musical CV (clearly indicating voice type) along with a direct link to a recording of one complete song or aria.
Successful applicants will be invited to attend an audition.
